Summary
This position provides editorial and administrative support in the acquisition, tracking, and processing of content for electronic and print publications developed by ASM Content Development activities (journals and APD).
Essential
Responsibilities:
Communicates with ASM staff, journal editors, reviewers, authors, committees, vendors, and publishers regarding journal operations.
Implements and updates to online submissions and peer review sites.
Work with member journal subscribers to resolve online access issues. Provide resolution to other editor, publisher or copywrite issues.
Provides timely reports and data on journal related activity to various stakeholders.
Participates and contributes to development, planning and evaluation for new & current journals.
Initiates content with marketing for promotion of technical journals and APD products.
Qualifications:
Ability to solve complex problems with little supervision Excellent organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Very good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint Proficient with web-based tools
EDUCATION AND
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience is required. Experience working with volunteers or similar experience 1-2 years of experience with publishing processes (acquisition, review, substantive editing, copy editing, graphics processing, page composition) or in a position requiring a similar level of attention to detail.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
